My final neck piece!

My next step..

I choose this shape for my final design. I choose a simple shape as I thought my design would be very textured.

I looked at two matierals in my sculpture ( Chicken wire and torn wadding). I thought the looked tacky covered in red paint. I decided to spray paint both a skin colour. I stretched the wadding over the chicken wire and sewed it. Then I tore it in different places.

I thought laytex really resembled skin. I wanted to layer this over the wadding, stretching and ripping the laytex too. I did a few swatches of laytex.

I applied it thickly, inserted pins in to it and then took them out when dry. I then scraped this swatch of laytex after.

I also did a swatch where I placed knifes, forks, needles etc.. into the laytex and left them in it when dry.
For my final garment I layered laytex over cling film so it would crinkle and curl when dry and taken off. I placed pins, forks, knifes, etc. in the laytex and peeled them out once dry. Then I stretched the laytex over the chicken wire and wadding and sewed it.
I then Embroidered a red stitch around the edges of the garment. I felt red needed to be added into the piece to lift it. I also attached red ribbon to the sides of the garment so it would tie to fit the body. I then attched the two pieces and placed them on the body.

Croquis

I took shapes from the manican designs I created and placed them on croquis in different ways.

I picked two of these shapes to focus on! Then I cut them out of paper in different scales and placed them on the manican to create different designs!

Pulling Shapes

From the pictures I took of my sculpures I did analitical drawings and I began pulling shapes.
